The official App for The Independent and Independent on Sunday newspapers

Working with production company Missing Ink Studios, we enjoyed developing this application for one of the UK's leading newspaper groups. This was one of our very early applications released early in 2009, as a free to download app it has proved hugely popular with mobile news readers. With long session times and millions of article views this app has worked very well for the client and demonstrates the potential mobile devices offer to newspaper and magazine publishers.

You can read all the news from The Independent on the go, downloading the full stories as they happen. The Independent App has been created so you can read all the stories and all the pictures offline, so you can continue reading the all the news stories even when your mobile signal is intermittent or not available.

Downloading the 150 plus stories that the Independent publishes on the App every day takes about a minute on a Wi-Fi connection and a few minutes on a normal mobile connection. Stories can be read whilst you are downloading.

Features include:

• All the key stories from The Independent updated regularly throughout the day featuring UK and World News, Sport, Business, Opinion, Environment, Travel, Arts and Entertainment, People, Politics, Technology and Football news
• Full story and picture download, allowing offline browsing when fully downloaded. No frustrating waiting for links to pages when you don't have a signal.
• Bookmarking stories - the ability to save stories for reading later
• Email Stories - send email with the story link to friends
• Font size increase and decrease within stories.
• Refresh - ability to manually refresh all categories to catch the latest news as it happens
