Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The official 30th Anniversary Digital Edition for the iPhone and iPod Touch
Celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy with the official iPhone edition of the first book in the series, including a new foreword by Russell T Davies and exclusive material from the Pan Macmillan archive, with an updated version of the App in October to include further exciting material.
We really enjoyed developing this classic novel into a great iPhone app while working with production company Missing Ink Studios. Combining in-app book store for purchasing additional titles, a carousel bookcase for accessing books and extras and the Eucalyptus award winning e-book library, developed by Things Made Out Of Other Things.

"It's an ordinary Thursday lunchtime for Arthur Dent until his house gets demolished. The Earth follows shortly afterwards to make way for a new hyperspace bypass and his best friend has just announced that he's an alien. At this moment, they're hurtling through space with nothing but their towels and an innocuous-looking book inscribed with the big, friendly words: DON'T PANIC. The weekend has only just begun..."
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is the first book in the brilliant Hitchhiker series, with a new foreword by Russell T Davies and exclusive, unseen material from the Pan Macmillan archives.

About The Author
Douglas Adams was born in 1952 and created all the various and contradictory manifestations of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: radio, novels, TV, computer game, stage adaptation, comic book and bath towel. His series has sold over 15 million books in the UK, the US and Australia and was also a bestseller in German and many other languages. Douglas lived with his wife and daughter in Islington, North London, and briefly in California, where he died in 2001.
Version 2.0 of the App
View the entire series from one app! There is now a Galaxy bookstore for you to buy and store your Hitchhiker titles. If you have bought any other books in the series, they will be available from your Galaxy Carousel, and if you would like to purchase any other titles you can do it from within the app too.
You will have free access to the first chapter of any book that you don't yet own.
There is a Don't Panic archive for each book that you own, containing exclusive pictures, press releases and more from the Pan Macmillan archive of Douglas Adams material.
Also added is an interactive DIY sticker cover. You don't need the paperback to customise your book! You will be able to add, move, rotate and resize a set of stickers onto your front cover, and even email them to a friend. No need for a scanner here! The stickers are transferred to the book's cover and the Galaxy Carousel.
